PART 2: WHO IS THIS JESUS I KEEP
HEARING ABOUT?
Scripture:
John 14:6 – “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.”
THE PERSON OF JESUS
1. Jesus Is More Than Just a Good Man or a Prophet
John 14:6 – “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.”
THE PERSON OF JESUS
1. Jesus Is More Than Just a Good Man or a Prophet
- Many people admire Jesus as a great teacher or moral leader, but the Bible reveals He is
much more. Jesus claimed to be God Himself—one with the Father (John 10:30).
- His miracles, teachings, and authority set Him apart. He healed the sick, raised the dead,
and forgave sins—things no ordinary man could do.
- The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the greatest proof of His divinity. If He had not
risen, Christianity would be just a story. But because He rose, it is the foundation of our
hope (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
2. Fully God, Fully Man
hope (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
2. Fully God, Fully Man
- Jesus is both fully God and fully human. He understands our struggles because He lived
as a man, yet He is divine and without sin (Hebrews 4:15).
- This unique nature makes Him the perfect mediator between God and humanity (1
Timothy 2:5).
3. Jesus’ Mission: To Save and Restore
3. Jesus’ Mission: To Save and Restore
- Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). He willingly took the punishment for
our sins on the cross, paying the debt we could never pay.
- He offers forgiveness, healing, and new life to all who believe in Him.
Modern Illustration:
Imagine someone stepping into a courtroom and taking your place to receive the
punishment you deserve. Jesus did exactly that on the cross for you.
Current Event Connection:
In a world where cancel culture punishes mistakes harshly, Jesus offers full forgiveness
and a fresh start. He doesn’t cancel you; He redeems you.
JESUS IS FOR YOU
1. Jesus Knows You by Name
- Jesus said, “I know my sheep, and my sheep know me” (John 10:14). He cares personally
about you. Your struggles, your pain, your questions—He knows them all.
2. He Offers Rest and Peace
2. He Offers Rest and Peace
- In today’s fast-paced, chaotic world filled with anxiety and uncertainty, Jesus invites us
to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28).
- His peace is not like the world’s peace; it is deep, unshakable, and lasting.
3. Jesus Calls You to Follow Him
- Following Jesus means surrendering your own plans and trusting His. It’s a daily decision
Reflection Questions:
- Have you ever stopped to really consider who Jesus is?
- Do you believe He died for your sins and rose again?
- What would it mean for your life to accept His invitation today?
Encouragement:
No matter where you are or what you’ve done, Jesus’ arms are open wide for you. He
wants a personal relationship with YOU.
